Oxxynea® has been evaluated in a double-blind randomized, placebo-controlled clinical study conducted on healthy subjects in a cross-over design to evaluate the nutrikinetic and acute benefits of selected polyphenols on the protection against oxidative stress during the post-prandial period.

Oxxynea® provides a 24-hour phenolic load in 1 intake.

After a single intake of Oxxynea®, a triphasic absorption pattern after a single intake of is observed thanks to the large spectrum of polyphenols: early presence of phase II human metabolites and later apparition of microbiota-derived metabolites.

This kinetic curve mimics the various intakes during the day with a diversified diet: each meal taken during the day provides a diversity of phenolic compounds from varied sources. This regularity ensures a constant circulation of phenolic metabolites for whole-day protection.

The 24-hour phenolic load is driven by polyphenol diversity inducing both rapid and delayed absorption of metabolites as well as rapid and delayed excretion.

Oxxynea® composition helps to reduce inter-individual variability of absorption.

Providing a diversity of polyphenols from several botanical origins reduces the inter-individual variability. Malondialdehyde is an accurate biomarker of lipid peroxidation.
An increase in reactive oxygen species induced by high-fat/carbs meal causes overproduction of MDA in placebo. Oxxynea® supplementation had a protective effect by limiting the MDA production.

Supplemented volunteers spared their antioxidant defenses, whether endogenous or exogenous, causing sustained biological homeostasis.
